San Marco square in night time vs in sunrise

- i dagsljus.

// When visiting Venice, of course you have to visit the infamous San Marco square. I knew I wanted to take photos of this stunning place in the light of the sunrise, before the crowds got up and out and it would be impossible to get a good shot without a strangers face in it. We were also recommended to visit the square during the evening to watch how beautiful it was lit up by all the lights. So we decided to do both.
There is only a certain amount of pics to take with the camera I'm using in night light so after a few pics we decided to call it a night, bought italian ice cream and walked back to our hotel.
The next morning we got up before the crack of dawn to be at the square at sunrise. We weren't the only ones with that idea but still the square was pretty empty on tourists. Some cleaners was swopping the square and some other workers was unloading the days goods from their boat, tossing boxes with what sounded like olive oil or wine to one another and cheering happily to eachother.
I managed to get some really nice photos though so I'm happy :) And it was such an experience to watch the square in the light of the sunrise, so quiet and unlike itself at night time or during the day. We also had a look at Ponte dei sospiri - Bridge of sighs - which we walked across later during the same day.
