Exploring the streets of Pula city

// Today we went to the city of Pula, the biggest city in the Istrian area. We saw the sights such as the triumph arch and Amphitheater from the roman time (more about that in a separate post), strolled the streets in the beautiful old town, had a browse in the shops and enjoyed nice food.
For lunch we left the touristy parts of the city, just wandered two blocks away from the mainstreet and found this quiet, cute little oasis with fairly good food and nice local wine.
For dinner we went to the outskirts of the old town, again a bit away from the tourist roads, to a little square with a beautiful fountain. The restaurant's name is Alighieri and we were recommended this place by both the hotel receptionists and a local at a café we stopped by for some coffee (and I spotted this adorable, tiny lizard running around). The food was very nice, we ordered a fishplate to share, similar to what we ate the other night but different fishes. And the price was great aswell, so jackpot, haha!
When in Croatia and near the sea, always choose a fish dish from the menu at the restaurant, as the waitors says whenever we or some other guest ask about advice on what to eat. The fish here is amazing!
