Något jag absolut ville se i Rom är det ökända Colosseum. Colosseum är en amfiteater där bland annat gladiatorspel tog plats under antikens Rom. Under vår andra dag tog vi oss till Colosseum och köpte återigen en guidad tur för att slippa stå i kö och vänta på att komma in.
Är man i Rom tycker jag definitivt man ska besöka detta massiva byggnadsverk med så mycket historia. Inte bara se det från utsidan (även om det är häftigt också) men faktiskt gå in!
Som ni vet har jag ju mitt utmattningssyndrom och dålig sömn de senaste nätterna i kombination med tidiga mornar (vi gick upp redan vid kl 6 för att hinna till attraktionerna när de öppnade för att slippa köa - då var det redan en timmes kö när vi kom dit) och extrem hetta gjorde tyvärr att jag inte orkade se hela Colosseum. Inte heller orkade jag följa med på nästa guidade tur, där besök till Forum Romanum och Palatinen ingick, och inte heller vara med på några bilder, utan fick sätta mig i skuggan och vila i en timme drygt.
Efter detta tog vi en buss till ett Piazza Navona där vi först åt lunch på en restaurnag (att sitta inomhus i aircondition var gudomligt!) en bit från piazzan (dessvärre ingen bra restaurang så jag la inte namnet på minnet) och vilade oss innan vi gick och fotade lite på själva Piazza Navona.

Our second day in Rome we went to Colosseum and once again we chos to buy a guided tour so we wouldn't have to wait hours in line to enter Colosseum.
I'm telling you guys - this is such a massive construction with so much history and a must to visit - and enter inside, not just look at it from the outside! - if you ever go to Rome.
As you guys know from before, I'm suffering from fatigue syndrome. The combination of sleep deprivation, early mornings (we went up at about six o'clock in the morning) together with extreme heat temperatures got too much for me. Hence, I didn't have the energy to finish the guided tour of Colosseum nor go along on the second one included - a visit to Forum Romanum and the Palantia - and didn't have energy to take or pose for photos either. Instead, I sat in the shade for about an hour, resting, before we took a bus to our lunch spot.
We arrived at our destination in more "downtown" Rome, Piazza Navona, and had lunch at a restaurant situated a bit away from the piazza (square). It wasn't a very good restaurant, sadly, so I didn't take note of the name. It was so nice to sit down for a great while inside where there was a cooling aircondition!
After lunch we walked over to Piazza Navona to admire it's beauty and take a couple of photos.
